One of the most durable and long-lasting fabrics on the market, 1000D CORDURA® Classic is the main material used to fashion the majority of Manhattan Portage’s catalog. Being both tear- and abrasion-resistant (as well as water-repellant), this fabric has the qualities to sustain everyday wear and tear for decades to come. Manhattan Portage always uses the thickest CORDURA® Classic on the market (1000D) to ensure that the product we make will last.
Extremely tough yet soft to the touch, CORDURA® Ballistic Nylon may be the most deluxe fabric we use at Manhattan Portage. Ballistic Nylon is even stronger against abrasion and tears than 1000D CORDURA® Classic yet still flashes a little sheen, accommodating both utility and aesthetics. This fabric also features an incredible strength-to-weight ratio, allowing some Manhattan Portage bags to simultaneously be lighter and stronger than their competitors.
This 500D nylon with a waxed coating adds an extra layer of water repellency to an already durable fabric. The smooth, matte finish on the fabric boosts the maturity on these classic designs from Manhattan Portage.
Reminiscent of CORDURA® Waxed Nylon but with a cotton base, this fabric feels extra-plush – adding a sensory pleasure on top of already strong aesthetics. As with almost all wax fabrics, water resistance is high with our Waxed Canvas fabric.
The Harbor Collection was designed for urban bike riders but can be used by anyone who has to battle outdoor precipitation. Made using a TPU membrane and nylon fabric, welded seams, and locking waterproof zippers, items made with this fabric are 100% waterproof in both fabric and construction.
